Speaking on the sidelines of an energy conference in Istanbul, NITC's head of international affairs, Mohammad Reza Shams Dolatabadi, shared the company's fleet strategy with Reuters.
Mr Dolatabadi told the news agency that the company had a five year plan to refresh the fleet, which anticipated a mix of vessel scrapping and vessel acquisitions, but did not foresee an overall increase in fleet capacity.
He also confirmed that the company is seeing resurgent European trade post-sanctions.
For all the optimism, significant barriers remain in place to doing business in and with Iran. Chief among these are limitations restrictions linked to financing and financial transfers.
