The maritime industry is waking up to cyber risk. Tanker owners and operators are invited to join the free-to-attend inaugural Maritime Cyber Risk Management Summit, in association with Norton Rose Fulbright, in London on June 21.
Confirmed speakers include Vijay Rathour, vice president Stroz Friedberg and Lior Frenkel, chief executive Waterfall Security Solutions.
Conference chairman Edwin Lampert says that those who attend will come away fully briefed on current and emerging cyber risks, what can be done to mitigate these risks and the latest best practices and technologies.
They will also be able to benchmark their preparedness if they are a victim of physical hacking or market manipulation and assess how well placed they are to weather the aftermath of a successful cyber attack.
"Shipowners and operators are now recognising that they need to know if their data is encrypted, and what that means, especially if they are required to make a public statement in the aftermath of a cyber-attack. As maritime companies automate more and more processes, security gaps also increase," Mr Lampert says.
This event is free to attend for qualified delegates from the shipowner/manager community. All applications to attend this event are subject to online registration and confirmation from the event organisers via email.
